Algebra I: I will take today's graphs tomorrow (finish 7 and 8)
#7:
x - y = 8
x + y = -2

#8:
5x - y = -9
y + 2x = 2

Homework tonight: p. 431, 8-13 all, 12 and 13 are graphs, do on graph paper. LABEL YOUR LINES!

Algebra I: Worksheet on parallel and perpendicular lines. Remember from class:

Parallel lines - two or more linear equations with different y-intercepts and the same slope. Graphs of parallel lines never meet.

Perpendicular lines- two or more lines that intersect at 90 degree angles (right angles). Their slopes are opposite reciprocals.

Do #'s 1,3,5,6, 7-15 odd and 17, a and b

Tuesday, March 11th, 2007

Whew, I put a reminder up for myself so I wouldn't forget another day!

Algebra I: You have the last page from the BMX Racing packet to finish, this is a calling plans question. Be sure to talk about the slope and y-intercept of the company's rate.

Also, study slope for your test. Be sure you know the equation, and how to plug in the points. You will be asked to graph an equation given a point and slope, so look over that. The book offers some help on page 295, example 5 and also pages 300-301 for similar problems.

Parent functions will make a return, as I will ask if why a certain function is not linear -- so what makes a linear equation linear?

Algebra II: PSSA countdown, 11 days! Look for more practice in the coming days and be ready to explain what you are thinking.

Algebra I: Finish the Hot Shirts / US Shirts problem and comparison. Be careful graphing, I am looking very carefully at everyone's graphs and have taken a lot of points off of people that have already turned theirs in.

Algebra II: PSSA Page 173, 3-8 all!

Algebra I: Sorry for the lack of posts. As you know, there was no homework on Friday, but tonight you are to finish your US shirts or Hot shirts problems up to the comparing sections. That means you MUST have the graph done by tomorrow!

Algebra II: Please be sure you worked through the estimation section in your PSSA books and be sure to bring them to class tomorrow.
