Algebra II: P. 109
Elementary Functions:Block A - Worksheet, all 4 problems.
Block C. P.106 41, 44, 45 -- try 45, do your best, I'll try to post some more info later if I can. or here
I cannot say enough, if you are struggling, come in for help! I can make myself available before school, during majors and occasionally after school by appointment. If you are a real early bird, let me know and I will bring you up before 7:15 if you plan on working.
Ten basic functions:
y=x
y=x^2
y=x^3
y=1/x
y=sqrt(x)
y=ln(x)
y=
For 45B: understand that f(x+y)=f(x)+f(y) means that if you pick any two numbers (let's just pick 6 and 33) setting x=6 and y=33, then plugging 6+33 ( which =39 ) into the original function would give you the same value as plugging 6 into the function, getting your answer, plugging in 33 to the function, taking that answer and adding to your original answer. Let's try it with x^3:
f(x)=x^3
f(39)=39^3 = 59319
check if f(6) + f(33) is the same
f(6)=6^3 = 216
f(33)=33^3 = 35937
f(6)+f(33) = 216 + 35937 = 36153 which is not 59319, so the answer to b is not f(x)=x^3
Similarly, d means to take 6*33, input that to the function, then check if that is the same value as above (namely, f(6) + f(33) )
Hope this helps!
